Welcome to Foundation Stage Summer 2021
Welcome back everyone, we hope that you all enjoyed the Easter break. Children are still being taught within their own class bubble. They will remain in their own rooms but share the yard during playtimes. Lunch is served within the class with staff ensuring tables are cleaned prior to lunch. Hand-washing is taking place throughout the day, especially after outdoor play, and before snack and lunch.
Please remember to always wear a mask and socially distance whenever you are on the school grounds to ensure everyone’s safety.
As the weather is improving we hope to be learning outside as much as possible, please can you provide a labelled cap/sunhat to be kept in school. Our PE day is Friday therefore, summer dresses or shorts can be worn on the other days. If the weather is hot please make sure you apply sun cream before school.
This half term we will be learning about Spring and lifecycles. St George’s Day will fall when we are in school so we will celebrate this day. Our literacy theme of Traditional tales will continue; we will look at the stories of the Three Billy Goat’s Gruff, followed by Jack and the Beanstalk. Towards the end of term, we will celebrate Eid and we are also hoping to complete our annual Road Safety with the children, this will be carried out over a one week period. These themes will be central to our learning, incorporating all seven aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum: Physical Development, Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
A reminder that homework is on Busythings. Each child has their own log-in (back of reading diary), homework is set over a two week period and feedback will be given. (FS2 only)
Please remind your children the equipment in the yard is only for use during school hours. These have now been cordoned off as a reminder that these cannot be used.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the Foundation Stage Team.
Thank you from the Early Years Team
