Welcome to Foundation Stage Summer 2021
As the weather is improving we hope to be learning outside as much as possible, please can you provide a labelled cap/sunhat to be kept in school. Our PE day is Friday therefore, summer dresses or shorts can be worn on the other days. If the weather is hot please make sure you apply sun cream before school
This half term we will be learning about Healthy lifestyles and fitness. We will look at the story Handa’s surprise, linking this with World Music Day on the 21.06, our chosen country will be Kenya. The same week we will be taking part in the School Paralympics games, this will either be on Tuesday (FS2X Badgers) or Wednesday (FS2Z Hedgehogs) with FS1 taking part on Tuesday and Wednesday. As part of our PSHE theme of Healthy lifestyles, we will be discussing about what is healthy/not healthy for our bodies. These themes will be central to our learning, incorporating all seven aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum: Physical Development, Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
A reminder that homework is on Busythings. Each child has their own log-in (back of reading diary), homework is set over a two week period and feedback will be given. (FS2 only)
Please remind your children the equipment in the yard which includes the tyres is only for use during school hours. These have now been cordoned off as a reminder that these cannot be used.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the Foundation Stage Team.
Thank you from the Early Years Team
