Learning Journey

Colour

This term we've been learning about colour and using it to help with our speaking. Each week we focused on a different colour, the children brought things in from home, along with finding objects around the classroom. We've enjoyed lots of different colour games and activities, including colour mixing with our hands!

Autumn Celebrations

We’ve enjoyed lots of celebrations this term. We started with Harvest, where we made bread, created a salt dough display and printed with vegetables. Followed by Diwali ‘the festival of light’, we enjoyed creating lanterns and Rangoli patterns using different media. For Bonfire night, we made our own edible sparklers and learned all about firework and sparkler safety. Finally, we celebrated remembrance, discussing what the poppy symbolises and made some lovely art work!

Autumn learning

We've enjoyed learning about Autumn this half term in Nursery. Here are a few photos of what we've been up to!

Settling in

During our first few weeks at Mount Pleasant Nursery, we have explored our classroom, school and the outside areas, including forest school. We've have taken part in lots of different activities and learnt some new routines.

Summer Fun Day

We've had lots of fun for our Summer fun day at the end of term, followed by a delicious ice pop to cool us down!

Learning in Summer 2

This half term we've covered lots of different topics, ranging from our world and the story of Handa's Surprise to handwashing and planting. We've also tried to make the most of the weather and get outside!

Lifecycles

We've been learning about and exploring the lifecycle of a Frog and a Butterfly this term. We've enjoyed watching each stage and learning new vocabulary.

Farm Visit

We enjoyed a visit from Emily’s Mini Farm. We saw lots of different animals including ‘Barbie’ the Sheep and ‘Ant’ and ‘Dec’ the goats. We had the opportunity to hold and stroke a tortoise, rabbit and chick. We then headed across to the field for lots of fun and a picnic lunch. We finished our day with an ice cream, yummy!
