Spring Term

STEM Robotics

Working in small groups/ pairs, we had a fantastic time creating robots from Lego. After this, we then programmed our creations to move, by entering a code on Scratch.

History Workshop

We had a fantastic time learning all about Prehistoric Britain with Professor Tuesday. This including looking at artefacts from that period.

Design Technology

In our textiles unit, we had a fantastic time making pencil cases.

Talk for Write

In some of our English lessons, learning was brought to life by using drama based techniques. 

Practical Coding

We were lucky enough to have an introduction to complicated coding, with Hyett Education. We spent time coding a drone to fly.

Autumn Term

Theatre Visit

We had a fantastic time watching Shrek at Blackpool's famous Opera House Theatre.

Science

We have been learning all about electricity in our new science unit. Because of this, we were very lucky to attend a show, looking at the different types of electricity. 

History

For our history topic, we have been studying Ancient Egypt. In one of the lessons, we have learnt about the mummification process and why it was so important.

Accrington Stanley Visit

Year 3 had a great time visiting the Wham Stadium (the home of Accrington Stanley). Whilst they were there, they received a gift bag which included this season's Accrington Stanley football shirt. 

Wellbeing Day

We had a fantastic day completing a range of screen-free activities. These included making smoothies, creating some artwork and carrying out a dance session. Everybody had lots of fun.
